In line with international trends for reforms in the criminal justice system, the Ministry of Justice is proactively promoting the concept of restorative justice and lists it as one of its most important criminal policies. Restorative justice seeks to offer the offender and victim a way to jointly find a solution and move forward, so that the victim will receive the apologies and compensation he/she deserves, the damage can be repaired, and recurrence of the conflict can be avoided. The offender and victim are encouraged to open a dialogue and negotiate a resolution to the damage caused by the offense.

The Association has collaborated with the Association for Victims Support in holding “Victim Trauma Syndrome Seminars”, “A Letter to the Victim” and screening films including “Going Home”.
